City of Lugano

Lugano is a modern and vital city, a real financial capital, that hasn't lost, though, its romantic and elegant nature.

The city lies on the shores of the homonymous lake, that honours Lugano with a marvellous panoramic view, warm climate, vary similar to the Mediterranean flair. The vegetation is luxuriant and rich and numerous are the aquatic sports that can be practised during the whole year.

Lugano is perfectly connected to the most important international airports; the railway station is above the city centre and it is reachable with a suggestive funicular. The city centre is a tangle of narrow characteristic streets with arcades, placed around the vital “Piazza Riforma”. Via Nassa is the characteristic shopping street, where people can buy precious jewels and prestigious brands such as Cartier, Ermenegildo Zegna, Hermès, Louis Vuitton...

Lugano is also an important cultural pole. Museums and art galleries present every month interesting and authoritative international exhibitions and in this context, the name of Mario Botta, emerges as a beacon for the whole world contemporary architecture.

Lugano is a real jewel that can combine the efficiency and the Swiss high standard of living to the fun, sun and joy of life typical of the Mediterranean regions.
